Folkestone Sprucer
The Folkestone Town Sprucer provides work experience to job seekers by improving the environment around Folkestone and the districts beyond. The volunteers are long term unemployed (Shepway, Dover & Ashford) and have barriers to employment.
Volunteers enhance the local community through litter picks, clearing paths and public areas, cleaning graffiti, windows and many other jobs that help improve the visibility of the town. Folkestone Town Sprucer partners with businesses, organisations, charities and local government in the district; with the aims to enhance the area and support volunteers.
The Folkestone Town Sprucers’ Lead Sprucer is Peter Philips. Peter is an optimistic can-do multi-tasker and has managed the volunteer team since the Folkestone Town Sprucer began in 2013 by David Taylor.
